In curtain terms, swag refers to the manner in which curtains are pulled to the sides of windows, about midway in their length. A draw back tie is looped around the curtains and is attached to a hook on the window frame, thus securing the curtains with the tops joined and the bottoms hanging freely. When released, the curtains close completely.
Net curtains. Net curtains are back in fashion, and should no longer be associated with fusty, old-fashioned interiors. Plain white, thin net curtains make a room appear more elegant, and from a practical side, stop people peering into your living room. If you prefer patterns, it's advisable to keep it minimal, or focussed only on the bottom half of the curtain. Patterns such as leaves and flowers are usually preferred, as they serve as a connection between the outside and inside space.
Beautiful curtain designs are also being made from used and recyclable products. Natural fibre like jute and wooden straws are also used to create wonderful contemporary designs in curtains. Multi-layered curtains are also in vogue if you wish to give your room a formal and rich look.
