Now, many of us are familiar with the basic type of lamp shade that stretches its material between the top and bottom cable circles of different diameters. This particular shape may be known as a drum, coolie, or empire, depending on the sizing ratio and the size of each element. Hardback shades have an exterior layer of fabric that is folded but nonetheless with an interior of plastic that will permit the light to filter through. However a more expensive one which is completely made of fabric is really a silk lamp.
