A lot of people read novel books before they sleep. Nightstands also serve as a cabinet that are capable of keeping our books that we regularly read.
There is no argument on this usual practice although there is still a big debate as to who is the more insistent one in imposing the sleeping arrangement. Nightstands are usually the places where things are kept by the bed occupants before going to sleep and to be retrieved by them once they wake up.
Nightstands make great TV platforms. Place one in your bedroom or the kitchen on one of those extra bedroom nightstands. If the nightstand is large enough, you can take out the top drawer and fit your DVD player in that space. The small size of the nightstand makes it the obvious choice to go with a small television.
If you're going to purchase a nightstand for your bedroom it's an absolute must that you know the size the nightstand needs to be. Never go shopping for a nightstand before you know how tall or wide you need for it to be. It would be a total waste of time to find a nightstand that you really like only to bring it home and discover that it doesn't fit in your bedroom. Always take measurements of the area where the nightstand will be placed before you go shopping and only look at nightstands that are sized within those measurements.
Bedrooms cry out for full extravagant window treatments; decorative drapes and matching valance can be added to functional, blackout curtains, and should be full length if possible. If privacy is a problem a bottom layer of sheers is essential, but if not substitute a sheer balloon blind for a romantic look, a roman blind made of lace if you're looking for something ultra feminine, a plain roman blind for something more masculine or a full, swagged Austrian blind for total extravagance.
